Something to say? Maybe

I have lots of things I want to blog about right now. But, I am not doing it because most of them will cause a fight with someone. Somedays it's just better to keep your mouth shut. But, it just irritates me that I feel that way. This is my blog, my thoughts and my feelings. Why do I feel the need to sensor myself just so that I don't make someone else mad?

Others don't feel that way. They write what they want regardless of how much it may hurt the person they are writing about. Words do hurt. I don't care what anyone says about 'sticks and stones' etc. Words when used unwisely or without getting all the facts before making a judgment call, can really hurt. I try to never do that about any particular person because I know how bad it can feel. Now, I may single out something and question why it was done that way, but I really try to never attack a person individually. That's just not what this blog is about.

So, why does it hurt so much when someone else does it to me? Am I just too sensitive? Is the other person right? Am I not entitled to my thoughts and feelings about something without ridicule? I just don't know. What I do know is that I take great offense when someone attacks me and my family without talking to me personally, without finding out the entire story, and without a true understanding of where I am coming from on a subject. Why do people think they know me when they rarely talk to me? Why do people read this blog and feel that they know all that is going on in my world? The stuff on this blog is a small snippet of my life and and even smaller dose of what I really think or feel.

Why do people feel the need to say they are not judgmental, and then they make a judgment call about me or my family or something I wrote/feel? They don't have the entire picture. They don't know what made me come to my conclusion. They didn't bother to ask. So, why do they feel it's okay to judge me, Mark or Ian? Why does it bother me?

Happy Dance

This post will be intentionally vague. Why? There are those that read and report/gossip and I don't want to give them information to use.

First, we want to thank all of our friends and family for all the love, support and help they have given us during this crazy situation. Without all of you, we would not be where we are today. I can't tell you enough how much all of you mean to us. Just know that we love and appreciate all that you do, always. Over the years, we have formed some amazing friendships and we have really learned who our true friends are during this mess. Again, thank you and know that we are always there for all of you as well.

We are doing a happy dance around this house this week. Mark's job will be taking him away from home and therefore, out of 'my' house!!!! For those that don't know: Mark and I have been married for almost 14 years. (WOW! I can hardly believe that we have put up with each other that long.) During all those years, Mark has worked at a job which has taken him away from home for anywhere from 5 to 20 days at a time. We have rarely been in the same location for more than 14 days at a time. (He has only been home for one of my birthdays and three of our anniversaries.) So, his being home for this long has been a real trial. We have weathered it, but not always gracefully. So, I for one am happy to see him back out on the road. Ian, on the other hand, is a whole other story. I am going to go through hell with that child when Mark leaves. He and Daddy are joined at the hip. It is not going to be pretty. It is going to be pure HELL!!!

I have said from the start that all things happen for a reason. Unfortunately, one may never know what the reason, but it all matters in the end. (Mark and I think we know the reason God had for putting us in this situation. And even though it caused us much grief, we are grateful in the end.) I have also said that what comes around, goes around. An extension of that is a lesson my parents taught me: You should treat people the way you want to be treated. Well, there is nothing more true than that lesson. You can't treat people like crap and not expect the crap to fall back on you eventually. (It's just heartening to be there to see it when it does fall back on the person!) And, believe me it DOES fall back!!! Tell me, is it wrong to take a sadistic pleasure in that? I am sorry if it is wrong, but is sure is enjoyable to watch. Now all we can hope is that all involved catch a little of the 'crap'. One can only hope.....

Evidence

How can you tell there is a toddler in the house? Well, you just need to observe what can be found on the (kitchen) floor.

You know, like shoes and underwear?!?!?!

I know I have a warped sense of humor (shut it Left Brain!!), but this cracked me up. I walked into the kitchen the other day and found this on the floor. And, of course I took a picture of it. What kind of a mom would I be if I didn't take incriminating photos of underwear left in the KITCHEN!! The question is why did he leave them there? I am really not sure I want to know, but I think we need to have a talk about the appropriate place to leave your underwear. I am really worried about what the teenage years will bring to this house. Just today, he blew kisses to all the girls working at the food court restaurants while we walked to the bathroom at the mall. Like I said, I am really worried.
